Property Management

Property Management

  • It is a common occurrence when requesting estimates or quotes that a customer is chasing their preferred contractors, taking time away from enjoying their own free time or investing in further business development.
  • We have identified clients who have failed to itemise their project in-depth with their contractor, leaving potential opportunities for a ‘Cost+’ invoice from their contractor, due to variations within their initial contract.
  • Time is a main consideration with any project – going over the agreed time scale may leave your office / home occupied with building materials for longer than you wished, and the project ultimately not completed. This coupled with an increased charge on final invoice, if such an eventuality has not been considered.
  • We at Tailored Management 4U offer a full management service: Meeting with client to understand your initial scope, liaising with contractors & suppliers, managing your budget whilst providing updates on project as we progress.
  • Our Project Management Fee – 20% Gross Project.
  • During our Project Management of your project, we aim to continue make savings where possible, be it: Materials or labour.
  • What is Project Management? How, does it differ from simply Management?
  • Project Management is essentially aimed at producing an end - product that will affect some change for the benefit of the customer/organisation that instigated the project. It is initiation, planning and control of a range of tasks required to deliver the end product, which could be a physical product, it could be new software or something less tangible like a new way of working.
  • A key factor that distinguishes project management from management is that it has this final deliverable and a finite timespan, unlike management which is an ongoing process. Because of this a Project Manager needs a wide range of skills; often technical skills, certainly people management skills and good business awareness.
  • For all but the simplest projects a formal approach to managing a project works best. The control imposed by a formal approach is essential when there are complexities such as new technology, inter-dependant tasks, teams spread across several departments or companies or where teams are in different geographical locations; all common occurrences in many business projects.
  • Every project will involve some type of change, therefore, change management is an integral part of the Project Management process. And, because there is change, there are likely to be risks, so risk management is also thrown into the project management mix.
  • PRINCE2 is a Project Management methodology that emphasises organisation and control. The acronym PRINCE stands for ‘Projects IN Controlled Environments. This Project Management framework is linear and process-based, focusing on moving initiatives through predefined stages.
  • PRINCE2 (PRojects IN Controlled Environments (2nd Edition)) is a process-based method for effective Project Management. PRINCE2 is a de facto standard used by the UK Government, recognised, and practised in the private sector in the UK and internationally.
  • What are the PRINCE2 processes?
  • PRINCE2 is a process-based approach for Project Management, providing an easily tailored, and scalable method for the management of all types of projects. Each process is defined with its key inputs and outputs, together with specific objectives to be achieved and activities to be carried out.
  • How to remember the 7 processes of PRINCE2:
    1. S: Starting up a Project
    2. D: Directing a Project
    3. I: Initiating a Project
    4. M: Managing a stage boundary
    5. C: Controlling a stage boundary
    6. M: Managing product delivery
    7. C: Closing a Project
